Progress Made at Sebring International Raceway

The second round of the IMSA WeatherTech Sprint Cup at Sebring International Raceway saw Gradient Racing make more progress as the team from Austin, Texas continues it’s inaugural season at the highest level of sportscar racing in North America.

A seventh place finish in the GTD category was an improvement on the team’s debut two weeks earlier at Daytona International Speedway. Saturday morning’s only dry practice session saw the #22 Unit Nutrition HPD Acura NSX GT3 Evo sit third on the time sheets for most of the hour-long session before being bumped to P5 at the Checkered Flag. For driver, Marc Miller, this was the first indication that progress was being made. “ I was really pleased with our practice pace and to be .5 seconds off the absolute pace in GTD was really encouraging. That time was absolutely legitimate too and it’s a sure sign of progress.”

The temperature at the Central Florida track was significantly cooler when  The #22 Unit Nutrition HPD Acura NSX GT3 Evo  took the Green Flag on Saturday evening and both drivers had to battle significant understeer during the two hour, forty minute race.

The final position represented the team’s best result to date but nobody left Sebring International Raceway under any illusions about the work needed to get the car consistently to the front of the GTD Grid.
